KAMLOOPS — Three people were taken to Royal Inland Hospital after a two-vehicle crash on Highland Road Friday (July 25) afternoon that led to a number of traffic woes for residents in Juniper Ridge.

In a statement to CFJC Today, BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) said paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to three patients after the crash, which occurred just before noon Friday.

“One patient was transported to hospital in serious but stable condition,” BCEHS spokesperson Bowen Osoko said. “Two other patients were transported to hospital in stable condition.”

Osoko said two ambulances with primary care paramedics, an advanced care paramedic response unit and a supervisor all responded to the scene in the 400 block of Highland Road, near the turnoff to Valleyview Arena.

While other details about the crash are not yet available, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dana Napier told CFJC Today that emergency personnel were still on scene as of just before 2:00 p.m. Friday.

While Highland Road was closed to traffic for a while, Napier said there was one lane of traffic flowing in each direction.

In a brief post on social media, the City of Kamloops also said people should use caution and expect delays on Highland Road as emergency crews respond to the situation.

This is a developing story, and more information will be provided once it’s available.
