Kamloops RCMP detail series of arrests, weapon seizures

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops RCMP detachment is detailing a series of arrests and weapons seizures undertaken in the past month.

In a news release issued Friday (July 25), spokesperson Cpl. Dana Napier says seven arrests took place between July 10 and 19. They came after investigations after warrant executions, stolen vehicles, intimate partner violence, weapons and drug offences.

The arrested were:

  • Michael Luttman (6 offences, including 3 for weapons)
  • Nicholas Dekelver (3 offences, including driving while prohibited)
  • Spencer Adams (5 offences, including dangerous operations of a motor vehicle)
  • Blake Bernhard (assault causing bodily harm and assault by choking)
  • Cameron Jewitt (5 offences, including some related to possession of a firearm)
  • Joshua Ippolito (6 offences in 4 separate incidents, including driving while prohibited and theft under $5,000)
  • Unnamed individual (Firearm seized, investigation still ongoing)

In a separate incident, a motorcycle was stopped by RCMP on July 18 and a gun was seized. The rider allegedly kicked a police officer in the course of the investigation.

Richard Graham is facing 10 charges, including possession of prohibited firearms and assaulting a police officer.

“The Kamloops RCMP Detachment continues to prioritize combating serious offenders by targeting individuals involved in weapons offences and violence,” said Supt. Jeff Pelley. “The dedication of [Crime Reduction Unit] supporting frontline policing reflects our ongoing efforts to combat serious offences and work toward enhancing public trust and safety.”

In total, police say 37 charges have been approved and four guns were seized.
