KAMLOOPS — It was a busy Saturday (July 19) for Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) crews.

In a post to social media, KSAR says it was called by BC Emergency Health Services at around 6:45 p.m. Saturday to help a dirt biker who suffered a shoulder injury near Duffy Lake.

While its utility task vehicle (UTV) team was en route, KSAR says the biker was able to reach RCMP members moments before rescue crews arrived.

“Although the dirt biker was safely picked up by RCMP, his riding companion — who had helped guide the UTV team to the location — required assistance himself,” KSAR states. “Unfamiliar with the trail network and without a phone or map, he was at risk of becoming lost. KSAR’s UTV team escorted him safely back to Duffy Lake.”
