Severe thunderstorm watch issued for Kamloops and area, including Coquihalla Highway and Okanagan Connector

KAMLOOPS — Another severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Kamloops and area and surrounding elevated highways.
Environment Canada states that conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that can produce heavy rain, large hail and strong wind gusts.
The severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the Nicola and South Thompson regions, the Coquihalla Highway from Kamloops to Merritt and the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna.
Residents are asked to go indoors when they hear the sound of thunder.
