LANGLEY, B.C. — It was another defeat on the road for Kamloops United Football Club (KUFC) in League1 BC action Saturday (July 19) afternoon in Langley.

The Kamloops women were beaten 2-1 by Langley United in their final away game of the season.

Cara Freeman put Kamloops up 1-0 just before half time, but the visitors gave up two second half goals to Megan Sun and Paige Colby and lost their 11th game of the season.

Kamloops will finish in last place in the women’s division as they have one win and just six points from 15 games, six points behind eighth place Burnaby FC. Saturday’s loss also ended a run of three straight 1-1 draws for KUFC.

Over in men’s action, Kamloops was beaten 2-0 by Langley, who remain in the hunt for the League1 BC title. Joel Badger scored a pair of goals to keep him team two points back of the TSS Rovers with one game left. Langley has 30 points while TSS has 32.

Kamloops is currently in fifth place with six wins and 20 points from 15 games. They’ll finish no lower than sixth place, but can’t finish higher than fourth in the nine team table.

The Kamloops teams will close out the season this Friday (July 25) when they host the TSS Rovers at Hillside Stadium. The women will kick things off at 5:00 p.m., with the men set to follow at 7:30 p.m.

A win for the TSS men will clinch them the League1 BC title and a spot in the 2026 Canadian Championship. Langley will need Kamloops to beat TSS as well a win over the Vancouver Whitecaps in their final game Saturday (July 26) if they are to be crowed champions.

A TSS draw over Kamloops and a Langley win will clinch the title for Langley as they beat TSS 3-1 in April, and 3-0 in June.

Over in the women’s division, Altitude FC have already clinched the title and a spot in the 2025 Women’s Inter-Provincial Championship in Sherwood Park next month.
