Surveillance camera captures image of theft suspect moments before being stolen from Kamloops home

KAMLOOPS — A suspect was shown on surveillance video stealing the security camera that caught the image of him at a Kamloops home.
At around 1:00 a.m. on July 9, Kamloops RCMP say a resident noticed a man outside of their home tampering with their surveillance camera. The resident called police immediately, and the suspect fled the area.
A location of the home was not provided in a news release issued Friday (July 18) morning.
“We encourage the public to always report suspicious activities in their neighbourhood,” Cst. Sofie Winkels said. “Since then, police have obtained a photo and are releasing it to the public with the hope that someone will recognize the person and reach out to investigators.”
