One person killed in weekend crash that closed Highway 1 north of Boston Bar
BOSTON BAR, B.C. — One person is dead following a collision that closed a stretch of the Trans Canada Highway through the Fraser Canyon over the weekend.
BC Highway Patrol says the crash happened on Highway 1 north of Boston Bar at around 4:00 p.m. Sunday (July 13) when a red Ford Explorer and a red Nissan Qashqai collided head on. Police add that a black Nissan Pathfinder was damaged in the aftermath.
In a news release issued Tuesday (July 15), police say the driver and lone occupant of the Ford Explorer, a 62-year-old Lytton man, died in the crash. The other four people involved in the crash had no injuries.
“We also ask that all drivers use extra caution on undivided highways. Keep your full attention on the road, stay sober, and keep your speed down. We want to avoid more of these tragedies.” Cpl. Michael McLaughlin said.
