Problem grizzly shot and wounded, B.C. conservation officer service says
TEXADA ISLAND, BRITISH COLUMBIA TEXADA I — British Columbia’s Conservation Officer Service says it’s investigating a report that a grizzly bear on Texada Island, off B.C.’s Sunshine Coast, has been shot and possibly wounded.
The bear has been the focus of much public attention after it began stalking people, harassing livestock and damaging property.
The service says in a statement on social media that the RCMP alerted them that the bear was reported shot and injured by a member of the public.
In June, the service said in a statement that the bear was not a candidate for relocation after being moved twice from Sunshine Coast communities in the past several months.
