KAMLOOPS — A pair of Kamloops youth soccer teams won bronze medals at the 2025 Provincial ‘A’ Cup tournament this weekend.

The Kamloops United (KUFC) U17 boys teams beat the Abbotsford United Soccer Club (AUSC) Bahia 5-3 in shootout in the bronze medal game at McArthur Island on Sunday (July 6). The tiebreaker was needed after the two teams played to a 3-3 draw in regulation.

It earned them a berth at the 2025 Toyota National Championships U-17 Cup, which will be held in Kamloops this October.

The Soccer Quest U15 boys also took home a bronze medal Sunday as they beat Coquitlam Metro-Ford Soccer Club PSG team 2-0.

“They dominated every match, controlled the play, and gave it everything—just couldn’t find the back of the net when it counted. That’s football,” a post on the Soccer Quest Facebook page said.

“A massive year of growth and grit for this group, and we couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve accomplished. The future is bright.”

The U16 Kamloops United girls team also finished fourth as they dropped a 2-0 decision to Lakehill FC.
