Kamloops United men win, women draw against Burnaby FC

BURNABY — It was an undefeated weekend for Kamloops United Football Club (KUFC) in League1 BC action Saturday (July 5) afternoon.

The Kamloops men beat Burnaby FC 3-0 to improve to 19 points from 13 games – though they remain in fifth place with six wins, six losses, and a draw.

While Kamloops is eight points behind leaders Langley, they can still mathematically catch them as they have three games left to play – two of which will be at home.

The Kamloops women were also unbeaten Saturday, though they had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Burnaby.

While Kamloops has picked up points in back-to-back games for the first time this season, they remains in the basement of the League1 BC women’s standings with five points from 13 games.

Kamloops is six points behind eighth place Nanaimo with three games left to play.

Next up for Kamloops United is a home against Unity FC of Surrey this Saturday (July 12) at Hillside Stadium. They women’s is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. with the men to follow at 7:40 p.m.
