
More maintenance-related closures coming to McArthur Island soccer fields
KAMLOOPS — The soccer fields at McArthur Island will be closed for maintenance for most of July in preparation for a series of upcoming tournaments.
In a statement, the City of Kamloops said crews will be working on seeding, top dressing and turf repairs in the goal mouth and other areas of the McArthur Island soccer fields from July 7 to 9 and again from July 13 to 25.
The fields will be open July 10 to 13 as the city hosts the Provincial ‘B’ Cup tournament on those days.
The McArthur Island soccer fields were previously closed from June 23 to July 2 ahead of the Provincial ‘A’ Cup tournament which is currently underway. Games began on July 3 and the tournament will wrap up on July 6.
