The Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) also lifted its evacuation order for two properties in the area on Wednesday.

According to the BC Wildfire Service, the Nikaia Creek wildfire was declared at 11:40 a.m. Friday. It is suspected to be human caused, though a exact cause has not been revealed.

Further north, an evacuation alert for three Lytton First Nation reserves remains in effect due to the 155-hectare Izman Creek wildfire. The TNRD still has three properties on evacuation order and nine others on evacuation alert.

Highway 12 between Lillooet and Lytton remains open to local traffic only due to the Izman Creek wildfire.
