Kamloops man found not criminally responsible in fatal North Shore stabbing due to ‘mental disorder’
KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops man has been found guilty, but not criminally responsible in connection with a stabbing at a North Shore apartment in March 2020 that killed one man and injured three others.
In Kamloops Law Courts on Thursday (July 3), a jury found that Michael Wayne Palmer, who was 43 years old at the time of the incident, was not criminally responsible “by reason of mental disorder.”
Palmer was facing one count of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder. He was accused of fatally stabbing 59-year-old Kevin White and injuring three other men – Caleb Crookes, David Gronberg and Ian McKay – by stabbing them in their necks
