BCICF to operate pop-up community centre in downtown Kamloops in July

KAMLOOPS — The BC Interior Community Foundation (BCICF) will be operating a month-long Pop-Up Community Centre in downtown Kamloops this month.

It will be located in the grand foyer of the TNRD Library Building at 465 Victoria Street, and will be open six days a week from July 2 to July 31.

In a news release, the BCICF says this new centre is will offer free, drop-in activities, live music, art and “a special guest pony, led completely by community members.”

The centre will open at 10:00 a.m. Monday to Saturday, and will feature a different theme each week, as follows:

  • July 2 – 5: Canadian Spirit Honouring the heart of Canada—diverse, strong, and proudly united.
  • July 7 – 12: Walking Together – Indigenous Arts Honouring Indigenous voices through art, music and creative expression
  • July 14 – 19: Art for the Heart Healing through creativity—where art meets inner well-being.
  • July 21 – 26: Animals and Earth Celebrating our deep connection to nature and all living things.
  • July 28 –July 31: Old Souls and Bright Sparks Bridging generations with wisdom, laughter, and shared stories.

“Whether it’s through attending a hands-on workshop, enjoying a live musical performance, participating in a wellness activity, or simply discovering more about our local nonprofits and entrepreneurs, the Pop-Up Community Centre is open to everyone and designed to bring people together,” BCICF said in the release.

“It offers an opportunity to connect with others, explore new ideas, and celebrate the talent and generosity within our region. It also gives local vendors and partners a chance to share their work while learning about the mission and impact of BCICF.”
