KAMLOOPS — BGC Kamloops and Williams Lake has announced the appointment of Stacey Turpin as Executive Director, calling it a “natural evolution of her long-standing commitment to supporting children, youth, and families across the region.”

In a news release, BGC Kamloops and Williams Lake (formerly the Boys and Girls Club) said Turpin began with the organization in 2004, and was most recently serving as Director of Finance.

“My background in non-profit leadership and financial management, combined with a deep connection to our staff and communities, led me naturally to this role,” Turpin said in the release.

“I believe in creating safe, inclusive spaces where every child belongs. I’m passionate about ensuring all children, youth, and families are given every opportunity to succeed, and BGC’s mission reflects that commitment.”

Board Chair Clifford Robinson said Turpin’s appointment is a reflection of the trust and respect she has earned during her time with the organization.

“Stacey brings exceptionally strong skills and knowledge in budget planning, financial reporting and analysis, contract management, and risk management,” he said. “Equally importantly, she has the trust of the high-performing teams in Kamloops and Williams Lake.”

Turpin has played a key role in uniting the cultures of the two clubs, and plans to continue that in her new role. The release states that her leadership will focus on listening to the needs of both communities while celebrating the “distinct strengths” of each location.

“I’m excited to continue uniting our two clubs under a shared vision while celebrating their unique identities,” Turpin said. “By listening to our communities, supporting staff on the ground, and deepening partnerships with local stakeholders, I want both clubs to feel equally seen and supported.”
