UPDATE: Landscape fire in Strathcona Park under control

KAMLOOPS — (UPDATE 4:00 p.m.): Kamloops Fire Rescue was able to knockdown the majority of the flames within 20 minutes of arriving on scene and did not request assistance from the BC Wildfire Service.

The fire was classified as knocked down by crews on scene just after 4:00 p.m.

Crews will remain on scene conducting mop-up work and monitoring for hot spots.

ORIGINAL – Kamloops Fire Rescue is currently on scene at Strathcona Park battling a landscape fire. It’s the second landscape fire in as many days in the city, following a fire behind the hospital on Thursday evening.
