Blazers 2025-26 season includes pair of afternoon home games, battles with new division rival

KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers unveiled their schedule for the 2025-26 Western Hockey League (WHL) season.

The Blazers will play 34 of their 68 regular season games at Sandman Centre, starting with their home opener on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 6:00 p.m. against the Spokane Chiefs.

Of the 34 home games, 26 will be on Friday and Saturday nights, four will be on Wednesday nights, two will be on Tuesday nights and two will be in the afternoon. Saturday night games will start at 6:00 p.m.

The first afternoon game will be Remembrance Day on Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 2:00 p.m. against the Edmonton Oil Kings. The second will be the Blazers’ traditional B.C. Family Day game against the Victoria Royals on Monday, Feb. 16 at 2:00 p.m.

On Saturday, Nov. 29, the Blazers will make their first trip to Penticton to take on the Vees, the WHL’s newest expansion club. The Blazers will welcome the Vees to Sandman Centre on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 6:05 p.m.

The Blazers’ first home game against their division rival Kelowna Rockets will be Friday, Jan. 2 at 7:05 p.m.

The Blazers will play their final home game on Friday, March 20 against the Vancouver Giants. They’ll travel to Langley the following day, March 21, to wrap up their regular season against the Giants.

Other notable dates on the Blazers’ 2025-26 schedule include a six-game Prairie road trip starting Friday, Oct. 10 in Prince Albert against the Raiders and ending Saturday, Oct. 18 in Swift Current against the Broncos.

The Blazers will try to advance to the WHL playoffs for the first time since 2023. They’ll begin pre-season play against the Giants on Wednesday, Sept. 3 at 7:00 p.m. from Sandman Centre.
