Contractor picked as Kamloops prepares for ‘critical’ surface work on Overlanders Bridge
KAMLOOPS — The City of Kamloops had picked the company that will be tasked with completing essential rehabilitation work on the Overlanders Bridge, which will get underway next month.
It has contracted River Valley Construction Services Ltd. following an RFP process that closed last month. Work on the bridge and the adjacent multi-use pathway is expected last until the fall.
“We thank all Kamloops residents and visitors for their patience and understanding as we invest in this critical infrastructure upgrade to ensure long-term safety and functionality for all users,” Wayne Lockhart, the City’s Civic Construction Manager, said in a statement.
Lockhart said the project will address “deteriorating surface conditions that are beginning to affect the safety of both the bridge deck and the multi-usepathway.”
