McArthur Island soccer fields to close for maintenance ahead of provincial tournaments
KAMLOOPS — The soccer fields at McArthur Island will be closed for maintenance for nearly two weeks as the city prepares to host a pair of provincial tournaments next month.
In a statement, the city said crews will be working on seeding, top dressing and turf repairs in the goal mouth and other areas of the McArthur Island fields starting Monday (June 23) in preparation for the Provincial ‘A’ Cup tournament.
The soccer fields are expected to be closed until July 2.
The ‘A’ Cup tournament is scheduled for run between July 3 and 6, while the Provincial ‘B’ Cup soccer tournament is set to be held the following weekend, between July 10 and 13.
