Lillooet emergency department temporarily closed for fifth time in June, 39th time in 2025

LILLOOET, B.C. — For the fifth time in June and 39th time in 2025, residents in Lillooet will be without emergency services.
Interior Health says the emergency department at Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will be unavailable from 7:00 a.m. Friday (June 20) until 8:00 a.m. Saturday (June 21).
All other inpatient services will continue at Lillooet Hospital. Interior Health has said all previous temporary emergency department closures in Lillooet have been due to a lack of physicians.
Residents in Lillooet and area are asked to call 9-1-1 if they need emergency care, or HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 if they aren’t sure if they need to head to the emergency room.
