Lillooet ER to be closed for fourth time in a week; 38th closure this year
LILLOOET, B.C. — Residents in the Lillooet will be without emergency room coverage for the fourth time this week, and 38th time this year.
Interior Health says emergency services at the Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will be unavailable between 7:00 p.m. Monday (June 16) and 8:00 a.m. Tuesday (June 17).
People in need of emergency care are being told to make the two hour trip to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, as has been the case during all previous ER closures in Lillooet, which have all been due to a lack of physicians.
The ER in Lillooet reopened at 8:00 a.m. this morning after a 25-hour closure. It was also closed last Monday (June 9) night to Wednesday (June 11) morning and last Thursday (June 12) morning to Saturday (June 14) morning.
