Lillooet ER to be closed for 37th time in 2025; third closure this week
LILLOOET, B.C. — The latest emergency room closure affecting residents in the Lillooet area will last for 25 hours this weekend.
Interior Health says the ER at the Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will be closed between 7:00 a.m. Sunday (June 15) and 8:00 a.m. Monday (June 16).
People in need of emergency care are being told to make the two hour trip to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, as has been the case during all previous ER closures in Lillooet.
This is the 37th ER closure in Lillooet this year and the third this week after closures Monday night to Wednesday morning and Thursday morning to Saturday morning. In total, the emergency room in Lillooet will have been unavailable for 920 hours this year because of a lack of physicians, with each closure lasting an average of nearly 25 hours.
