100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — People in the 100 Mile House area will be without emergency room coverage for 13 hours Sunday (June 8), as the mercury climbs into the low 30s.

Interior Health says the ER at the 100 Mile District General Hospital will be closed between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Sunday. It’s the eleventh emergency room closure in 100 Mile House this year, and the first in about two weeks.

People in need of emergency care are being told to head to Cariboo Memorial Hospital in Williams Lake during this time.

As has been the case during past emergency room closures, Interior Health said people should call 9-1-1 if they need emergency care, or HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 if they aren’t sure if they need to head to the emergency room.
