RCMP say drugs, guns, illegal cigarettes and cash seized from Williams Lake house
WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — RCMP say they seized suspected drugs, firearms, illegal cigarettes and cash from a house in Williams Lake Thursday (June 5) in a bust that also led to the arrest of two people.
Police say the Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit (CC-CRU) along with officers from the Williams Lake detachment executed a search warrant at a house on Smith Street.
“The CC-CRU was deployed in Williams Lake to assist with criminal enforcement actions in local crime,” a statement from the RCMP said. “During proactive enforcement [the day before], police observed a vehicle whose occupants appeared to be actively trafficking in drugs.”
“As a result of police investigative actions evidence was obtained to support drug trafficking at a residence on Smith Street in the city.”
