Small wildfire pops up near Tobiano

KAMLOOPS — UPDATE (8:45 p.m.): BC Wildfire Service says the fire is under control.

EARLIER: The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is reporting a new start west of Kamloops Wednesday evening (June 4).

BCWS says the fire broke out earlier in the day near Tobiano, 800 metres east of Cherry Bluff.

The fire is suspected to have been caused by human activity. As of about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, it measured 0.4 hectares.

The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has not issued any alerts or evacuations.
