Pacific Way between Hillside and Hugh Allan three-peats as most crash-prone spot in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS — For the third consecutive year, a stretch of Pacific Way earned the disreputable accomplishment of having the most vehicle crashes in Kamloops.
According to data on vehicle-related crashed and injuries from 2024, the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) says a total of 60 collisions were recorded on Pacific Way between Hillside Drive and Hugh Allan Drive. Of them, 17 were casualty crashes, meaning they resulted in death or injury.
Trailing Pacific Way by a car length was the stretch of Battle Street including the on-ramp toward Highway 1 west and Highway 5 north, which saw 59 crashes. However, ICBC says that area recorded the most casualty crashes in Kamloops in 2024 with 22.
The segment of Pacific Way between Hillside and Hugh Allan has recorded 311 crashes since 2020, the most in Kamloops in that timeframe. The roadway has on-ramp access from Hugh Allan, Hillside and Highway 1 west, along with off-ramps to those respective roadways.
