
Blazers sign second first-round draft pick in as many days
KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops Blazers signed their second first-round pick in the 2025 Western Hockey League (WHL) Prospects Draft.
The club announced Tuesday (May 27) it has agreed to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement with 2010-born center Teagen Bouchard.
“Teagen is a tenacious right shot center that was one of the top scorers on his team. We look forward to watching Teagen’s game continue to grow and are excited to be a part of his future hockey development in Kamloops,” Shaun Clouston, Blazers general manager and head coach, stated in a news release.
Bouchard was selected 14th overall in the first round of the 2025 WHL Prospects Draft. The product of Falher, Alberta scored 21 goals and 61 points in 30 games with Northern Alberta Xtreme’s U-15 prep team during the 2024-25 Canadian Sport School Hockey League season, good for 12th in league scoring.
