THE TATTLE OF HASTINGS: Olynyk talks TRU WolfPack legacy, fight against cancer, life as sports dad

KAMLOOPS — Ken Olynyk was hired as athletics and recreation director at the University College of the Cariboo in 2003.

He oversaw the school’s jump to the highest level of university sports in the country, leading the transition from the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association to Canadian Interuniversity Sport, now known as U Sports.

In 2005, the UCC Sun Demons became the TRU WolfPack under Olynyk’s watch.

In this edition of the Tattle of Hastings, Olynyk reflects on his 15-year tenure at the helm of TRU sports, life as a sports dad and his recent battle with cancer.
