KAMLOOPS — With a hint of summer around the corner, water parks in Kamloops will open a week ahead of schedule.

The City of Kamloops announced the water parks at McDonald Park, Prince Charles Park, Riverside Park and Westsyde Centennial Park will open on Friday, May 23. The city notes the season for water parks starts on June 1 and ends Labour Day, but it could be extended into the spring or fall due to extended stretches of hot weather.

As of Wednesday (May 21), Environment Canada is forecasting sunshine with daytime highs of 28 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 31 degrees on Sunday.
