May 20, 2025 | 6:17 AM
KAMLOOPS — A mountain biker was rescued after sustaining an injury in the Tranquille area on the west side of Kamloops over the long weekend.
Kamloops Search and Rescue (KSAR) say they got the call at around 4:00 p.m. Saturday (May 17). In a post to social media Monday (May 19) morning, KSAR says the biker was suspected of having spinal injuries.
As BC Emergency Health Services (EHS) was en route, KSAR says a Medevac helicopter was placed on standby to help with extracting the biker if accessing the site was challenging for paramedics.
However, KSAR says EHS reached the injured biker and was able to send them to hospital.
