John Antulov named League1 BC coach of the month; three players also earn honours

KAMLOOPS — John Antulov has been named the League1 BC coach of the month for April.

Antulov has led Kamloops United (formerly Rivers FC) to their best start this this League1 BC season. Kamloops United (KUFC) finished with two wins and a draw in April, and they’ve added two wins from two games so far this month.

With four wins and a draw through five games, the KUFC men are top of the standings with 13 points, three points clear of second place TSS Rovers.

Men’s players Riad Jaha and Lucas Kirnon were also named to the League1 BC team of the month for April. Jaha and Kirnon – who plays for the Montserrat national team – have two goals each this season.

While the KUFC women’s team is still searching for their first points of the season, goalkeeper Cassandra De Amaral was named to the women’s team of the month for April.

Both Kamloops United teams are in action against Burnaby this Saturday (May 17), during the annual Slurpee Cup weekend in Kamloops. The women will play at McArthur Island at 3:00 p.m. followed by the men at 5:30 p.m.
