Another 13 hour closure coming to Lillooet ER

LILLOOET — Residents in the Lillooet area are navigating yet another spell without emergency room access, the sixth this month.

Interior Health says the ER at the Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will be closed for 13 hours starting at 7:00 a.m. Wednesday (May 14). The ER is scheduled to reopen at 8:00 a.m. Thursday.

People in need of emergency care are being told to make the two hour trip to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, as has been the case during all previous ER closures in Lillooet.

This is the 27th closure of the emergency room in Lillooet this year and the seventh in May.

As has been the case during past emergency room closures in Lillooet and elsewhere, Interior Health said people should call 9-1-1 if they need emergency care, or HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 if they aren’t sure if they need to head to the emergency room.
