First Avenue Detour
Downtown Kamloops block to close for two days to accommodate construction

KAMLOOPS — Residents who use First Avenue in downtown Kamloops to get to Sahali are being advised of a detour over the next two days.
The City of Kamloops says First Avenue between Columbia Street and Nicola Street will be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday (May 13) and Wednesday (May 14). In a post to social media, the city says traffic will be detoured along Battle Street to Second Avenue.
Residents are asked to avoid the stretch of First Avenue if possible and obey all traffic control personnel and signage.
Construction is ongoing at the corner of Columbia Street and First Avenue. The site will be the home of the 141-unit Canary Lofts condominium and townhouse project.
