LILLOOET, B.C. — It’s by-election day in the District of Lillooet as voters head to the polls to elect a new councillor.

People will be able to vote at the District of Lillooet Municipal Office on Main Street between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., Saturday, May 10. They’ll get to choose from one of three candidates – Kevin Aitken, Marg Lampman, and Jonah Timms.

Lampman is a former mayor of Lillooet who was elected in 2014 but lost in 2018, while Aitken is a former councillor who was also elected in 2014, though he not seek re-election four years later. The two were on council along with incumbent Lillooet mayor Laurie Hopfl, who was elected to the role in 2022.

Timms, meanwhile, ran for the BC Green Party in Fraser-Nicola and finished in third place in the 2020 and 2024 provincial elections.
