UPDATE: RCMP say traffic flowing after lengthy delays caused by two-vehicle crash near Rayleigh
KAMLOOPS — (UPDATE 5:40 p.m.): There are no details yet, but the RCMP say traffic is once again flowing in both directions on Highway 5 north of Halston Avenue in Kamloops.
A single lane of alternating traffic was put in place after a two vehicle crash between a pair of pickup trucks, one of which was an unmarked RCMP vehicle, just before 9:00 a.m. It was in place and impacting traffic for around nine hours Saturday.
While its not clear what happened, numerous witness videos showed an upright grey RCMP pickup truck missing its rear driver’s side tire while another pickup was on its passenger side. Both vehicles were in the southbound lanes, though some debris had spilled over into one of the northbound lanes.
Police previously said more details will be released once the scene had been cleared.
