Wet snow possible for Coquihalla Highway and Okanagan Connector overnight
MERRITT, B.C. — April showers bring May wet flurries on some Interior highways.
Environment Canada has a special weather statement in effect for the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt and the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Kelowna from overnight Wednesday (May 7) until early Thursday (May 8) morning.
The weather agency says a few centimetres of wet snow over mountain passes is possible overnight as a cold front tracks across the Interior.
“Roads may become slippery due to wet snow or slush,” Environment Canada states. “Be prepared to adjust your driving to changing road conditions. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.”
