Another closure underway at Lillooet emergency room
LILLOOET, B.C. — Residents in the Lillooet area are navigating yet another spell without emergency room access, the fifth in the last week and a half.
Interior Health says the ER at the Lillooet Hospital and Health Centre will be closed for 25 hours starting at 7:00 a.m. Saturday (May 3). The ER is scheduled to reopen at 8:00 a.m. Sunday.
People in need of emergency care are being told to make the two hour trip to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops, as has been the case during all previous ER closures in Lillooet.
This is the 21st closure of the emergency room in Lillooet this year and fifth since April 23. The most recent closure Wednesday to Friday this week lasted 37-hours.
