KAMLOOPS — RCMP do not believe foul play was involved in the death of a man in a fire outside a vacant North Shore commercial building earlier this month.

The man was discovered early on April 7, after Kamloops Fire Rescue crews extinguished a fire near Eighth Street and Tranquille Road, outside the large commercial building that was most recently home to a Spirit Halloween store.

In a news release issued Tuesday (April 29), Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn says criminality is not suspected in the man’s death.

“Since then, police have identified the victim as part of their sudden death investigation,” said Evelyn. “At this time, no evidence has been discovered to suggest criminality was involved in the man’s untimely death.”
