Clearwater emergency room to close for 15 hours; third closure of 2025
CLEARWATER, B.C. — Residents in the Clearwater-area will be without emergency care Saturday (April 26) night, the third ER closure of the year and second this month.
Interior Health says the ER at the Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital will be closed between 5:00 p.m. Saturday and 8:00 a.m. Sunday. People are once again being told to head to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops if they need emergency care during this closure.
The Clearwater ER was previously closed for 22 hours in early April and for 13 hours in late February this year.
As has been the case during past emergency room closures in Clearwater and elsewhere, Interior Health said people should call 9-1-1 if they need emergency care, or HealthLink BC at 8-1-1 if they aren’t sure if they need to head to the emergency room.
