UPDATE: Kamloops RCMP, ERT swarm Valhalla Drive home Friday

KAMLOOPS — (UPDATE 4:15 p.m.): Police have cleared the scene in a Brocklehurst neighbourhood after multiple RCMP units, including the Southeast District Emergency Response Team (ERT), were called Friday afternoon (April 25).

There aren’t many other details available yet, other than the police response was at a property in the 800-block of Valhalla Drive – the same house where there was a shooting two years ago, that led to the death of one woman five days later.

This afternoon’s police response did lead to a brief hold and secure at nearby AE Perry Elementary School, which was lifted around 2:30 p.m., roughly the same time when police cleared the scene.

At the time of the incident, residents were being asked to avoid the area while police were on scene. Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said details about the investigation haven’t been released “to maintain its integrity.”
