Williams Lake man arrested after assault in local park

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Williams Lake RCMP are investigating an assault in Boitanio Park over the weekend.
Police say the altercation reportedly occurred between two men from Williams Lake – a 60-year-old and a 37-year-old – where the older man suffered minor injuries.
In a news release issued Wednesday (April 23) afternoon, RCMP say the 37-year-old man was arrested and released from custody. His matters are before the courts, pending charge approval.
The Williams Lake detachment says it has responded to public disorder in Boitanio Park where patrolling officers have issued verbal warnings and liquor control and licensing act violation tickets.
