KAMLOOPS — The Thompson Rivers WolfPack women’s basketball team has added another regional standout as Kamloops local Isabel Phillips will join the team for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

“I wanted to stay at home for family, especially my Dad and my Grandma,” said Phillips. “I’ve been able to watch the WolfPack play as I’ve grown up and I’m really looking forward to get the chance to be a part of the team.”

A star with the Sa-Hali Sabres, Phillips is a talented guard that excels at shooting the ball. She played a pivotal role in the team’s run to second place at the AAA BC High School Provincial Championships.

Ahead of the championship, Phillips spoke to CFJC Sports about trying to bring a banner home to Kamloops.

Starting provincials with ten points in the Sabres’ 63-36 victory over Stelly’s in round one, Phillips added another five points in her squad’s 63-47 win over Robert Bateman in the quarter-final. Phillips had her best game of the tournament in the semifinal, tallying 12 points and being named player of the game in Sa-Hali’s 55-52 victory against Duchess Park. She finished the tournament with a further seven points as Sa-Hali came just shy of claiming the first senior women’s basketball provincial title in school history after an incredibly close 50-49 defeat at the hands of M.E.I.

Phillips was named a second team all-star for her strong play at the tournament.

She becomes the second recruit of the 2025-26 season for the ‘Pack after Vernon standout Paige Leahy signed earlier in the month.
