Police incident impacts traffic on Highway 97C north of Merritt
UPDATE (10:00 a.m.): Cpl. James Grandy, Southeast District RCMP spokesperson, told CFJC Today there is no risk to the public. Additionally, there is no estimated time for when police will be able to provide a statement on what transpired on Highway 97C.

EARLIER: MERRITT, B.C. — A police incident continues to impact a stretch of Highway 97C between Logan Lake and Merritt Wednesday (April 23) morning.
DriveBC first reported of the police incident on Highway 97C between the City of Merritt and Brolin Road at around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday (April 22) afternoon. The stretch of Highway 97C was closed for more than seven hours but partially reopened to single-lane-alternating traffic at around 10:30 p.m.
