Traffic light repairs at busy North Kamloops intersection expected to take weeks
KAMLOOPS — Kamloops drivers are asked to approach a major intersection on the north end of the city with caution over the next few weeks.
The City of Kamloops says a transport truck struck a traffic light pole at Fortune Drive and Eighth Street at around 4:00 a.m. Tuesday (April 22) and traffic control crews have been on scene since.
Speaking to CFJC Today, the city’s assistant operations manager Joe Luison says traffic control should be removed by the end of the day.
“We’re working through setting up temporary lighting there right now so we can come together with a plan to do the permanent repair in the upcoming weeks. We need to order a few key parts to get that back up and running,” Luison says. “There will be some slight changes, but traffic flow should be somewhat back to normal.”
