KAMLOOPS — There is just one week to go until the next edition of the CFJC TV Boogie The Bridge in Kamloops, which will take place at Riverside Park on April 27.

Speaking on CFJC Midday, Boogie the Bridge Society Executive Director Jo Berry says preparations are in full swing for the 28th edition of the annual event, which features four different races – a 1K, a 5K, a 10K and a 21.1 km half marathon.

“Big shout out to our Boogie team because we all start planning in September and finish in June for a three hour event, but they’re amazing,” Berry said. “Super grateful for everybody’s efforts and passion for community health, so yeah, we’re stoked.”

Online registration for the event is open until this Thursday, April 24, after which people will only be able to register in person.

“We have our Boogie Expo, which is at Moccasin Square Gardens this year in partnership with Tkemlúps. So you can come there on the Friday and Saturday and register,” Berry said. “You can even register on race day if you want.”

There will be temporary road closures in effect next Sunday to accomodate the thousands of runners and walkers that are expected to flood the streets of Kamloops.
