Kamloops native Ethan Langenegger makes pro hockey debut for Syracuse Crunch

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Kamloops native Ethan Langenegger made his professional hockey debut with the Syracuse Crunch of the American Hockey League (AHL) Saturday (April 19) night.

The 24-year-old Langenegger allowed three goals on 26 shots in 38:14 of action as the Syracuse Crunch fell 3-2 to the Utica Comets in their final game of the 2024-25 AHL regular season. He entered the game in relief of Brandon Halverson, who stopped all 10 shots he faced in the opening period.

Prior to joining the Crunch on an Amateur Tryout (ATO) contract, Langenegger spent the season playing NCAA Division 1 hockey at Clarkson University. He posted a 22-10-2 record in 35 games and finished with a 2.14 goals against average, a .914 save percentage and one shutout.

In ECAC conference play, Langenegger posted a 13-6-1 record, a 2.23 goals against average, and a .913 save percentage in 20 games. He was also named the recipient of the Ken Dryden Award as goaltender of the year.
