Expensive tool kit handed over to Merritt RCMP; officers trying to find rightful owner

MERRITT, B.C. — A bag of expensive tools was handed over to the Merritt RCMP detachment in hopes of finding the proper owner.
RCMP say the red Hilti tool bag given to the detachment on March 20 contained Dewalt power drills and Dewalt batteries. The bag, batteries and tools had specific markings on them.
In a news release issued Thursday (April 17), RCMP say officers haven’t been able to identify the owner and are now asking for the public’s help.
Anyone who lost power tools and believes the Hilti bag and Dewalt assets are theirs is asked to contact Cst. Nic Maciejewski with the Merritt RCMP at 250-378-4262 and provide the unique markings located on the tools to prove ownership.
