Firefighters knock down blaze at Tk’emlúps landfill Monday

TK’EMLUPS — Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc officials say a highly visible fire in the area of Mount Paul Road Monday afternoon (April 14) came from the community’s landfill.
Kamloops Fire Rescue crews were called around 2:30 p.m. Monday and arrived to find a thick, black plume of smoke billowing from the Stswekstem facility on Strawberry Hill Lane.
In a social media post, Tk’emlúps says the small fire was put out quickly.
