Kamloops United FC earn season opening split against Langley
KAMLOOPS — A weekend split for Kamloops United Football Club (KUFC) in its League1 BC home-and-season opener Saturday (April 12).
The men’s team beat expansion team Langley United 3-2 at Hillside Stadium to pick up all three points. Riad Jaha, Isaac Tate, and Javier Sagaste were the goalscorers for KUFC.
“I thought from beginning to end, defensively we were really sound,” men’s Head Coach John Antulov said post-game. “On attack, we took our chances when we had them, so overall a really good effort, and a good start to the season. Now we have to keep building on it.”
It was heartbreak for the KUFC women’s team as they were leading late in their game against Langley, though they gave up a pair in the dying minutes and lost 3-2.
