Lillooet emergency department temporarily closed for 37 hours
LILLOOET, B.C. — Emergency services will be unavailable in Lillooet until the weekend.
Interior Health says the emergency department at Lillooet Hospital temporarily closed at 7:00 p.m. Thursday (April 10) and is scheduled to reopen at 8:00 a.m. Saturday (April 12). A reason for the temporary closure was not provided in a news release issued Thursday afternoon.
While all other inpatient services will continue as normal at Lillooet Hospital, residents in the area in need of life-threatening emergency care are being asked to make the near two-hour drive to Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
It’s the 13th announced temporary closure of the Lillooet emergency department since March 9, and 14th overall in 2025.
